Pumpkin products from crackers to coffee are filling the stores and everyone in the magazines seems to be cozied up in boots and sweaters. While living in Texas definitely has its perks, we always feel a bit left out as the rest of the country starts transitioning to fall. It’s been (it still is…) a long, hot summer and we’re definitely ready to pack away our shorts and sandals, but the shift takes a little longer out here in the south. It’s still possible to get in the autumn spirit with some small changes to your wardrobe that won’t leave you sweating:
Top It Off
Fedoras and floppy hats in rich fabrics and colors are an easy wardrobe update that serves dual purpose—you can also hide your humidity hairdo.
Booties Are Back
They swept the nation last fall and are back even bigger this year, with so many cute details like fringe, buckles, and open-toes. Wear them now with shorts and dresses, then later with your skinny jeans and pants.
Wrap It Up
Think light-as-a-feather scarves and kimonos in gorgeous prints to spruce up your t-shirts and tanks. They’re an easy addition that’ll make you feel layered without the heaviness.
Maxi dresses and skirts work all year-round. Just move to richer colors and throw a cardigan or denim jacket on top. Swap your ‘flops for some booties (see above!) and consider yourself transitioned.
Now we just need some cooler temps. Come see us in the meantime at Oh Yeah!
